Johannesburg Team Building for a group of French

This team building was for 12 delegates at the Thatch in Midrand. Minute to Win It started at 14h30 and finished at 17h00 when we showed n hilarious green screen movie of the day's event. Most of the participants were French. One girl had to "drive a taxi in Johannesburg" in front of a green screen. The footage was then imposed so that it appeared that she was flying a F1 Jet plane, and she said. "oh, it is so beautiful here in South Africa" with a French accent. The people cracked themselves when they watched the movie.

How we got into Children’s Birthday Parties.

A few years ago we ran an event for one of our most valuable Clients, Nampak. I believe that it was their Financial Division and the boss had such a good time that he asked us if we would run Pulse Ranger for his son’s eighth birthday party. We couldn’t refuse and it has led to a new and most FUN division of our business. In time the whole of his class had Pulse Ranger for their parties. And once in a while they had a guest from another school and the whole growth process started again. But just recently we had one of our VERY BEST parties for ten-year-old Anna and 23 of her friends. Why was it such FUN and so rewarding? Well 18 of them attend Bella Vista a School for those students who benefit from Assisted Learning. I have a challenged son, now aged 22 so I can claim to be experienced where patience, sympathy and special caring are essential. Themba, Tom and I went to the event and the three of us coped so well that Anna’s Mum sent us the nicest email of Thanks that we have ever received. And the children were a real pleasure. If you shed a tear at the Paralympics, you will weep bucket fulls for Special Olympics athletes!

Witbank Team Building in the mud

(7 September 2012)

This team building was for 28 delegates at Presidentsrus , between Witbank and Middleburg. Presidentsrus is a beautiful holiday resort tucked between valleys. It was raining and the 11 kilometer gravel road was hectic. This heavy was normal. We changed to indoor activities and the clients had a blast. We ended the day with a debrief and a super-imposed DVD of the day's event (hilarious). On the way back, a tracker was standing by to pull cars out of the mud - similar to a genuine Survivor challenge.

NEDBANK and Champagne KZN

NEDBANK and Champagne

Now the major banks regularly involve their divisions in teambuilding and Nedbank have used the Serious Fun Factory on several occasions. Most recently their Investment Division of some 95 souls trekked from all directions to meet at the centrally situated Champagne Sports venue. We blew their minds with the Serious Fun Factory Challenge – ten teams competing over five different activities – LaserSport, Scooter-X, Pulse Ranger, the Fly Fishing Challenge and MinIt2WinIt. The event was curtailed by a storm just as the last session commenced. I took the decision that there was approaching thunder and called the event off. How lucky can you be – not five minutes after everyone was in shelter buckets and buckets came down accompanied by lightning. We did a sort of ‘Duckworth-Lewis’ to calculate the winning teams and presented our findings which met with acclaim from the winning team at least!! The BOSS then said that his team were long established and they went away twice a year and had been doing so for nearly ten years and by far the event created, managed and staged by the Serious Fun Factory was clearly the best ever. So we look forward to welcoming the rest of Nedbank to some SERIOUS FUN.
